PLANT A TREE, SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT"

“PLANT A TREE, SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT”

“Trees are connected to Buddha and Buddhism. Shakyamuni Buddha was born under a tree. Events that followed very much depended on trees. He reached enlightenment under a tree and passed away under a tree. He was in harmony with trees and plants. Every step in Buddha’s teaching is to do with the environment and it is an example of the point of dependent arising and living things.

At Okaldunga with Rinpoche outside their new gompaTrees give not only positive energy but also healing energy. Trees have the ability to overcome internal and external obstacles as when they are used for medicinal purposes. Buddha explained in the Vinaya that even breaking a small branch is against the Law of Nature and the Buddha’s moral ethics.”
